What documents should be provided with your application

The documents required as part of your application can be uploaded at the end of your application form, so have them to hand when completing your form. 

Required for all applicants and household members, including children

  • Proof of Identity Such as Passport, Driving Licence or birth Certificates for children.

Further required items will depend on your circumstances, but could include:

  • Evidence of Recipt of Child benefits. A Child benefits certificate should be downloaded via your gov.uk account. Prove you qualify for Child Benefit - GOV.UK
    • We are unable to accept bank statements or UC screen prints. 
  • Proof of Local Connection.
  • Proof of Income including salary, benefits and housing benefits, work and state pensions
  • Proof of Homeownership
  • Proof of Benefits.
  • Proof of Savings & Assets.
  • Proof of Care & Support
  • Medical conditions
  • Immigration Status. (As applicable)
  • Latest Rent Statement.

Tell us where you wish to live

To help with future planning of new homes, please list up to 4 different towns and / or villages you would like to live in in Shropshire, on your social housing application form.  There is no need to fill all 4 area, if you only wish to live in 1 or 2 towns,  just list those. 

You do not need to choose the NFA, Telford and Wrekin or out of County Options

  • If you are current NFA, please make a homeless application to Shropshire Council Housing Options team
  • If you wish to live in Telford and Wrekin, please apply to Telford and Wrekin for advice on how to join The Telford and Wrekin area Housing Register. 
  • If you wish to live in a county outside of the Shropshire Council area, please contact the local council for the area you wish to live and request to join the housing register. 

To edit your social housing form, go to the My Applications section on your My account page after logging in to your account. 

Login Format Changes

Following our system upgrade - to log into your account, your Reference Number and Password remain unchanged. However, the Memorable Date now need to be input in the format DD/MM/YYYY as shown, to include the forward slashes.

Your Reference number, memorable date and password can be recovered via the website.
